What inspires

Me?  Well a can of tuna fish or even watching the piranha in the small pond out front; a bird in the bird feeder, or a warm sunbeam or a bowl of milk.  It doesn't take much to inspire me.  I'm just that kind of cat - well rounded and easily inspired (with the right motivators of course).

What inspires her?

Better have a seat in a very comfortable chair.  This could take a few minutes.

Her inspiration?

It's everywhere in nature...

...and in the studio...

...and in the office.

Vignettes here and there.
In my office and studio, which she believes to be her office and studio.
No matter really.  It means she cleans them ;)

Inspiration tucked into corners and shelves.

On top of cabinets and the cabinets themselves.

So while function is important, everything in the office and studio must also inspire.

She has spent years gathering and changing out as well as adding furniture and small doses of inspiration.  Playing to get it just right.

It's one of those things that takes on a life of it's own - knowing a direction, not because it's in style or something everyone else has.  Gathering and just knowing that "this" is what inspires and what should be a part of the studio or office. A part of her inspiration.

Everything comfortable.  Everything with history and a story.  A gathering of items that culminate to a point in time during which there is not one piece of furniture that can be bested, and every detail scrutinized to be sure it's still "right".

So although she's at that point where not much has changed since the last time you glimpsed the studio or office, small details have moved around and perhaps been added to.  Maybe something subtle that began like a whisker tickle while vacuuming or dusting.

After all, for her, what surrounds her in the studio or office or nature inspires, and thus breeds more inspiration and creativity.

Kind of like rabbits I suppose.

Or fleas.

Well maybe not like that - that's not such a good thing.  But yes, maybe like rabbits.

And what else inspires?

Bloggers who create.  Yes, that's right - YOU and you and you!  Everyone who has even one small ounce of creativity inspires her.  And yes, of course, those cats who own those same creative people -  well they inspire me.  To be a better, more creatively motivated cat....albeit still ferocious ;)  And right now there are a bazillion of you out there who have recently posted about your studios and attending Karen's party - Where Bloggers Create!

So what are you doing here?!?  Head on over, I'll be there just as soon as I grab my top hat and a can of tuna for the road...... But before you go, tell me purrlease - what inspires you?

Small details

Wondering where I've been or why I haven't posted?

Not really?

Well I'll tell you anyway since you are already here.

I've been right here.  Thinking about life.  Napping.  Catching a plant-eating rodent or two.

And waiting for her to stop pinning on Pinterest long enough for me to get some quality computer time.

Yep.  Not only that but, last week alone I wrote two posts. Without a computer - you know the old fashioned kind...longpaw.  I sure did!

No, they didn't get published.  The can-opener-turned-editor nixed them.

I thought they were pretty good.  Really.

But she said, "no, your followers will drop you quicker than a rabid flea."

"Post something that everyone can relate to or at least enjoy", she added.

Since when do I post anything that all of you don't enjoy?  Hmpfh!  Alright then - here it is. Safe. With pretty and close-up, non-ferocious pictures (excluding of course the very ferocious one above of moi...and handsome oui?).

And I'm linking up with Rebecca for Magnify Monday.  Which by the way, I had planned on doing anyway because it really is a great idea to stop and look and appreciate every detail that we have been given in this beautiful life!

Note: Rebecca was unable to host this link up party this week, for reasons unknown.  The link for Magnify Monday is to her original post announcing the party.

Don't forget you can click on any picture for even greater detail!

While I do hope that you enjoy this post, should you decide you want to read my previous, unpublished posts let me know.  I've got this expanding universe and linear reality of  measured time all formulated and theorized.  Ready for publication in a scientific journal or on this blog.

Together we could remind her just who's blog this is.  Storm the pessimistic self-appointed editor's office and let her know just how my followers really feel about my blog posts....just think about it and let me know.

Meanwhile, I think I'll go work on my next article... cognitive hibernation of warm blooded mammals.

the dead living room come back to life

Also known as the "living room redo". You know the one I mentioned in the last post? You may not remember - that was after all a MONTH ago! Yeah, I know, but remember "she" is old and moves slow in comparison to me. Poor thing. "She" claims there's not been the time to turn on the computer so that I could post. Um, sure.....seriously?!?

But I won't complain - I am still fed well and the living room is looking better. Almost like someone lives here.

Yes, there is still the matter of the furniture. For now the cushions are turned over so that "she" doesn't have to look at the modern multi-colored pattern. Most definitely not my style. Nor "hers". So that only leaves one person who could possibly have liked it. Don't worry Dad, I won't tell them it was you.

No matter. Eventually, they will be gone and I will have something else to lounge on. They just haven't found the perfect pair of chairs and love seat, but the search is still on.

The rooms in this house are rather small and the living room is no exception, therefore the furniture will have to be smaller than a bus. A hard choice for "her" because "she" is partial to that big massive stuff. Probably why when buying for the tattered cat, the biggest and heaviest pieces are chosen. Should sign "her" up for FFAA - Fat Furniture Addiction Anonymous.

Anyway, rather than wait another lifetime to show you the totally finished living room, I thought I would share with you the major wall change. Here is a before picture, taken at Christmas time (duh right - like that tree would be there any other time):

Note too, on the picture above, the pattern on the sofa pillows....

And here is the living room today:

Yep, I know quite a difference. And you may not like it. That's okay. Really. "She" does "her" own thing and doesn't expect everyone or anyone for that matter to like it.

So knowing that, I have scattered some close up pictures of the vignettes throughout this post - hoping of course that will soothe your fur a bit. You know that theory that states 'small doses are easier to handle'.....because I wouldn't want you to leave me with your fur standing on end and whiskers all a whack.

As for when will the living room be finished?

Those of you who love to "fluff", you know that a room is never ever finished.....because there is always something that might look better over there and this over here....and oh I found a new piece of furniture.....those of you who don't "fluff", you get the picture right?

Hoping you are having a great week! It was beautiful here today - a purrfect day for sunning my whiskers and warming the pads of my toes!

P.S. - A special thank mew to all my new followers! I am honored and humbled that you have chosen to follow me. I am content, therefore I purr......

Decided to part my fur down the left side

Do you see it? It's a subtle part there on the left side...okay maybe very subtle but it's there.

You're not buying this parting-of-fur thing are you?

Okay, I confess, I couldn't think of anything else to get your attention. But now that I have you here, purrhaps you may have noticed my new look? It's my blog - it has the new look! If you like it, thank you, I did it all by myself! If you don't like it, well then blame "her".

Either way, we can all blame "her" for starting the whole change thing. Seems spring cleaning and fluffing started early this year...no doubt prompted by the warmer temperatures we HAD and the flowers that WERE blooming.....yes, it is COLD now. A chilly 21 degrees at night and 32 in the day! Anyway, what was I saying....oh yeah, spring cleaning in the winter....

I suppose we all get a bit stir crazy by February. Purrsonally, I think "she" takes it to a new level. Most of you probably clean until even the Q-tips have all been used up (getting into cracks in the floor tile, etc). Well around here, the mop is dry and the Q-tips are only being used in Dad's ears.

Okay, I'll admit though, that two weeks ago was a different story. Dad finally gave "her" the go ahead to change up the living room. "She" claims that is where it all started.

Move one thing from the studio and then another and another. And of course as "she" moves everything it gets cleaned, where it sat gets cleaned, and where ever it is going to sit gets cleaned....oh heck, it ALL ends up cleaned.

But two weeks later, only three rooms have been touched.

Notice I didn't claim that they had all been cleaned to the Q-tip level, just "touched".

There's a reason.

"She's not done yet."

So maybe before the month is done, I'll be able to show you more than these pictures of changes in the studio. I hope to be able to show you what the living room looks like now. And yes, I'll even see if I can't find a 'before' picture too. It all happened so fast, I didn't think to take a picture. I was too busy worrying about getting stepped on or run over. You do NOT want to get in "her" way when the creating and moving and decorating starts....oh it can be worse than flying monkeys. Or so I'm thinking because I've never really met a flying monkey....

Anyway, you're probably wondering how the new blog design got done with all that craziness. Well, I had to think of something to do and Dad's office was the purrfect place to get away from "her". Unfortunately, I didn't get away quick enough to avoid getting the "let's make it new" virus ;) Ah well, the change will do me good....

Sure hope my bed is still in the same spot....
